Punishment for rape.
Full Text
(1) Whoever commits rape shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than ten years, but which may extend to imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.\n(2) Aggravated rape (by police, public servant, etc.) shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than ten years, but which may extend to imprisonment for life, which shall mean imprisonment for the remainder of that person's natural life, and shall also be liable to fine.

बलात्संग के लिए दंड।\n(1) जो कोई बलात्संग करेगा, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कठिन कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष से कम नहीं होगी, किन्तु जो आजीवन कारावास तक की हो सकेगी, दंडित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दंडनीय होगा ।\n(2) गंभीर बलात्संग (पुलिस, लोक सेवक आदि द्वारा) के लिए दंड कठिन कारावास होगा जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष से कम नहीं होगी, किन्तु जो आजीवन कारावास तक की हो सकेगी, जिसका अर्थ उस व्यक्ति के शेष प्राकृतिक जीवन के लिए कारावास होगा, और जुर्माने से भी दंडनीय होगा ।
