Duration and alteration of orders

(1) A protection order made under section 18 shall be in force till the aggrieved person applies for discharge.

(2) If the Magistrate, on receipt of an application from the aggrieved person or the respondent, is satisfied that there is a change in the circumstances requiring alteration, modification or revocation of any order made under this Act, he may, for reasons to be recorded in writing pass such order, as he may deem appropriate.

(1) धारा 18 के अधीन किया गया कोई संरक्षण आदेश तब तक प्रवृत्त रहेगा जब तक व्यथित व्यक्ति उसके उन्मोचन (उन्मुक्त करने) के लिए आवेदन नहीं करता।

(2) यदि मजिस्ट्रेट का, व्यथित व्यक्ति या प्रत्यर्थी से आवेदन प्राप्त होने पर, यह समाधान हो जाता है कि परिस्थितियों में ऐसा परिवर्तन हुआ है जिसके कारण इस अधिनियम के अधीन किए गए किसी आदेश में परिवर्तन, उपांतरण (संशोधन) या प्रतिसंहरण (रद्द करना) आवश्यक है, तो वह उन कारणों को, जो लिखित में दर्ज किए जाएंगे, ऐसे आदेश पारित कर सकेगा जो वह उचित समझे।
