Full Text
(1) A mark used for denoting that movable property belongs to a particular person is called a property mark.
(2) Whoever marks any movable property or goods or any case, package or other receptacle containing movable property or goods, or uses any case, package or other receptacle having any mark thereon, in a manner reasonably calculated to cause it to be believed that the property or goods so marked, or any property or goods contained in any such receptacle so marked, belong to a person to whom they do not belong, is said to use a false property mark.
(3) Whoever uses any false property mark shall, unless he proves that he acted without intent to defraud, be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.

(1) किसी जंगम संपत्ति को किसी विशेष व्यक्ति की संपत्ति के रूप में चिह्नित करने के लिए उपयोग किया जाने वाला चिह्न संपत्ति चिह्न कहलाता है।
(2) जो कोई किसी जंगम संपत्ति या माल को, या जंगम संपत्ति या माल रखने वाले किसी बक्से, पैकेज या अन्य पात्र को इस प्रकार चिह्नित करता है, या किसी बक्से, पैकेज या अन्य पात्र का उपयोग करता है जिस पर कोई ऐसा चिह्न अंकित हो, जिससे यह विश्वास करने की उचित संभावना हो कि इस प्रकार चिह्नित संपत्ति या माल, या ऐसे चिह्नित किसी पात्र में रखी कोई संपत्ति या माल, उस व्यक्ति का है जिसका वह नहीं है, वह मिथ्या संपत्ति चिह्न का उपयोग करता है, यह कहा जाता है।
(3) जो कोई किसी मिथ्या संपत्ति चिह्न का उपयोग करेगा, जब तक कि वह यह साबित न कर दे कि उसने कपट करने के आशय के बिना कार्य किया था, वह किसी एक अवधि के लिए कारावास से, जिसे एक वर्ष तक बढ़ाया जा सकता है, या जुर्माने से, या दोनों से दंडित किया जाएगा।
