Assault.

Whoever makes any gesture, or any preparation intending or knowing it to be likely that such gesture or preparation will cause any person present to apprehend that he who makes that gesture or preparation is about to use criminal force to that person, is said to commit an assault.

हमला।\nजो कोई कोई ऐसा संकेत या कोई ऐसी तैयारी इस आशय से या यह जानते हुए करता है कि यह संभाव्य है कि ऐसे संकेत या ऐसी तैयारी से वहां उपस्थित किसी व्यक्ति को यह आशंका हो जाएगी कि वह जो ऐसा संकेत या ऐसी तैयारी करता है, उस व्यक्ति पर आपराधिक बल का प्रयोग करने ही वाला है, वह "हमला" करता है, यह कहा जाता है ।
