Voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty.

(1) Whoever voluntarily causes hurt to any person being a public servant in the discharge of his duty as such public servant, or with intent to prevent or deter that person or any other public servant from discharging his duty as such public servant, or in consequence of anything done or attempted to be done by that person in the lawful discharge of his duty as such public servant, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both. (2) If grievous hurt is caused, the punishment is imprisonment between one to ten years and a fine.

लोक सेवक को उसके कर्तव्य से निवारित करने के लिए स्वेच्छया उपहति या घोर उपहति कारित करना।\n(1) जो कोई किसी लोक सेवक को उस समय, जब वह ऐसे लोक सेवक के नाते अपने कर्तव्य का निर्वहन कर रहा हो, या उस व्यक्ति को या किसी अन्य लोक सेवक को ऐसे लोक सेवक के नाते अपना कर्तव्य निर्वहन करने से निवारित करने या डराने के आशय से, या उस व्यक्ति द्वारा ऐसे लोक सेवक के नाते अपने कर्तव्य के विधिपूर्ण निर्वहन में की गई या किए जाने के लिए प्रयतित किसी बात के परिणामस्वरूप स्वेच्छया उपहति कारित करेगा, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि पांच वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, या जुर्माने से, या दोनों से दंडित किया जाएगा । (2) यदि घोर उपहति कारित की जाती है, तो दंड एक से दस वर्ष के बीच कारावास और जुर्माना है ।
