Appointment of Protection Officers

Full Text

(1) The State Government shall, by notification, appoint such number of Protection Officers in each district as it may consider necessary and shall also notify the area or areas within which a Protection Officer shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred on him by or under this Act.

(2) The Protection Officers shall as far as possible be women and shall possess such qualifications and experience as may be prescribed.

(3) The terms and conditions of service of the Protection Officer and the other officers subordinate to him shall be such as may be prescribed.

(1) राज्य सरकार, अधिसूचना द्वारा, प्रत्येक जिले में उतनी संख्या में संरक्षण अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति करेगी जितने वह आवश्यक समझे और उस क्षेत्र या उन क्षेत्रों को भी अधिसूचित करेगी जिसके भीतर कोई संरक्षण अधिकारी इस अधिनियम के द्वारा या इसके अधीन उसे प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करेगा और कर्तव्यों का पालन करेगा।

(2) संरक्षण अधिकारी यथासंभव महिलाएं होंगी और उनके पास ऐसी योग्यताएं और अनुभव होगा जो विहित किया जाए।

(3) संरक्षण अधिकारी और उसके अधीनस्थ अन्य अधिकारियों की सेवा के निबंधन और शर्तें वैसी होंगी जो विहित की जाएं।
