Service on civil public officer or on servant of railway company or local authority
Full Text
Where the defendant is a public officer (not belonging to the Indian military, naval or air forces), or is the servant of a railway company or local authority, the Court may, if it appears to it that the summons may be most conveniently so served, send it for service on the defendant to the head of the office in which he is employed, together with a copy to be retained by the defendant.

जहां प्रतिवादी कोई लोक अधिकारी (Public Officer) है (जो भारतीय सेना, नौसेना या वायुसेना का न हो), अथवा किसी रेलवे कंपनी या स्थानीय प्राधिकारी का सेवक है, वहां न्यायालय, यदि उसे यह प्रतीत होता है कि समन की तामील इस प्रकार अधिक सुविधापूर्वक हो सकती है, तो उसे प्रतिवादी पर तामील के लिए उस कार्यालय के प्रधान (Head of the Office) को भेजेगा जिसमें वह नियोजित है।
