Causing miscarriage.
Full Text
Whoever voluntarily causes a woman with child to miscarry, shall, if such miscarriage be not caused in good faith for the purpose of saving the life of the woman, be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both; and, if the woman be quick with child, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

गर्भपात कारित करना।\nजो कोई गर्भवती स्त्री का स्वेच्छया गर्भपात कारित करेगा, यदि ऐसा गर्भपात उस स्त्री के जीवन को बचाने के उद्देश्य से सद्भावपूर्वक कारित न किया गया हो, तो वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि तीन वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, या जुर्माने से, या दोनों से दंडित किया जाएगा ; और यदि वह स्त्री सजीव अजात शिशु से गर्भवती हो, तो वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दंडित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दंडनीय होगा ।
