Making or using documents resembling currency-notes or bank-notes.

(1) Whoever makes, or causes to be made, or uses for any purpose whatsoever, or delivers to any person, any document purporting to be, or in any way resembling, or so nearly resembling as to be calculated to deceive, any currency-note or bank-note shall be punished with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees.\n(2) If any person, whose name appears on a document the making of which is an offence under sub-section (1), refuses, without lawful excuse, to disclose to a police officer on being so required the name and address of the person by whom it was printed or otherwise made, he shall be punished with fine which may extend to six hundred rupees.\n(3) Where the name of any person appears on any such document in like manner as is mentioned in sub-section (2), such person, unless the contrary is proved, shall be presumed to have caused the document to be made.

करेंसी नोटों या बैंक नोटों के सदृश दस्तावेज बनाना या उनका उपयोग करना।\n(1) जो कोई कोई ऐसा दस्तावेज बनाएगा या किसी अन्य प्रयोजन के लिए उपयोग करेगा, जो किसी करेंसी नोट या बैंक नोट जैसा प्रतीत होता है या उससे इतना मिलता-जुलता है कि धोखा हो सके, वह पांच सौ रुपये तक के जुर्माने से दंडित किया जाएगा ।\n(2) यदि कोई व्यक्ति, जिसका नाम ऐसे दस्तावेज पर आता है, कानूनी बहाने के बिना पुलिस अधिकारी को निर्माता का नाम बताने से इनकार करता है, तो उसे छह सौ रुपये तक के जुर्माने से दंडित किया जाएगा ।
