Assaulting President, Governor, etc., with intent to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power.

Whoever, with the intention of inducing or compelling the President of India, or the Governor of any State, to exercise or refrain from exercising in any manner any of the lawful powers of such President or Governor, assaults or wrongfully restrains, or attempts wrongfully to restrain, or overawes, by means of criminal force or the show of criminal force, or attempts so to overawe, such President or Governor, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

राष्ट्रपति, राजयपाल, आदि पर उनके विधिपूर्ण शक्ति के प्रयोग करने के लिए विवश करने या उसका प्रयोग करने से रोकने के आशय से हमला करना।\nजो कोई भारत के राष्ट्रपति या किसी राज्य के राज्यपाल को इस आशय से कि उसे उसकी विधिपूर्ण शक्तियों में से किसी का किसी भी रीति से प्रयोग करने के लिए या प्रयोग करने से विरत रहने के लिए उत्प्रेरित या विवश करे, उस पर हमला करेगा या उसका सदोष अवरोध करेगा या सदोष अवरोध करने का प्रयत्न करेगा या उसे आपराधिक बल द्वारा या आपराधिक बल के प्रदर्शन द्वारा आतंकित करेगा या आतंकित करने का प्रयत्न करेगा, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दंडित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दंडनीय होगा ।
